Apr 26, 2010 - @harishpeddibhotla It is not recommended to reuse oil that has been heated already. Certain properties of the oil change when it gets heated and then cools down, causing it to be unhealthy for the arteries. When you decide to fry, it is best to line up several things that you can fry at once before the oil cools down. Paneer is a good option because you can freeze it for later use. Fry things that have a good shelf life so that you are not forced to eat a lot of fried things at one time.

May 11, 2010 - Mine were a little chewy are they suposed to be like that or didnt I have the oil hot enough (i had it at about 300°)
ShowMeTheCurry Says:
May 11, 2010 - @tigerlilyv10 : If they were chewy it means that they still had some water content i them. We mention that one needs to keep cooking till the bubbles stop forming. Also the oil needs to be on low heat so they don't brown too fast...also, allow them to cool down before digging into them ;)

Jul 25, 2010 - If you roll Chapati dough and cut it into diamonds and fry it and dust it with powdered sugar it is a Tibetan New Year cookie called Khapsey. It looks just like that minus the masala.
